Steve Trytten Esq., CPA*, MBA, is a nationally recognized authority on tax, estate, retirement plan benefits, and business succession planning.
Steve lectures to tax and estate professionals across the country at programs such as American College of Trust and Estate Counsel ("ACTEC") national meetings, Heckerling Estate Planning Institute, ALI-CLE programs, Hawaii Tax Institute, NYU Tax Institute, Notre Dame Tax Institute, USC Tax Institute, CEB-UCLA Estate Planning Institute, Southern California Tax and Estate Planning Forum, NAEPC Estate Planning councils around the country, AICPA programs, California CPA programs, and NAELA Annual Institute. Publications include his papers for these events, as well as articles for Trusts & Estates Journal of Wealth Management and other publications for professionals engaged in tax and estate planning.
Steve is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel ("ACTEC") and became a Regent in 2022. Steve served as Chair of the ACTEC Employee Benefits Committee from 2017 to 2020.
Steve served as co-chair of the ACTEC SECURE Act Task force that submitted comments to Treasure outlining recommendations for regulatory guidance.
In 2022 the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC) inducted Steve into the NAEPC Estate Planning Hall of Fame® as an Accredited Estate Planner® (Distinguished) Designee.
Steve has been recognized each year since 2015 in the Chambers & Partners High Net Worth Guide and is ranked as a top attorney serving high-net-worth clients. Steve has been recognized each year since 2003 as one of the top lawyers in the U.S. by virtue of his inclusion in the Best Lawyers of America©. He has also been voted by his peers in Los Angeles County as a "Super Lawyer" each year since 2004 and was further recognized as one of the top 100 vote recipients county-wide among all practice areas in 2004.
Steve is a "Certified Specialist" in two areas: Taxation Law, and Estate Planning and Probate Law (certification by the Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California).
Steve teaches as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami School of Law graduate program in Estate Planning (2011 - Present).
Steve served as Chair of the Committee on Estate and Gift Taxation, Taxation Section of the California State Bar (1996 - 1998).
Steve attended the University of Illinois where he received his undergraduate, JD and MBA degrees. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1978 and to the California Bar in 1983.

The Central Arizona Estate Planning Council (“CAEPC”) is committed to providing all participants at our events with an inclusive and professional environment where they feel comfortable.
